The end of summer break for many means the end of adventures and long nights with friends and loved ones. Yet the moment you get on the plane to university doesn’t need to be a heart-wrenching event. Instead, we should look at it as embarking on a journey filled with new memories and deeper connections. There is no better place to foster these experiences than at IE, where students are welcomed each year with open arms, as clubs, Student Government, and Campus Life work together to make each new beginning better than the last. Here are some of the most exciting events to welcome new and returning students this year:
The Club Fair
(August 31st)
Form new connections, find exciting experiences, and embrace your passions at IE Club Fair! This annual event helps students create their own path at IE by bringing them face-to-face with club officers from professional and advocacy clubs to ones that bring students together to explore their hobbies and creativity together. The Club Fair will take place on August 31st. Register through IE Connects to join in the first slot from 10:30-11:30 a.m. or the second slot from 14:30 to 16:30 p.m.
Wild West by Eros
(September 1st)
Welcome the new month on September 1st by dancing the night away at Ero’s Wild West inspired party. Featuring reggaeton, techno, and house music catered by five DJs, this night will be the one to remember. Hosted at a secret location – the Rancho – a short ride from Segovia, Eros will help attendees secure rides to ensure that the night goes off without a hitch. More on the event can be found at their instagram and a schedule of all other nightlife events happening in Segovia during Freshers’ Week can be found listed in this PDF.
Mentorship Society Kick-off Event
(September 2nd)
Calling all Mentors and Mentees! Come meet your new IE family on September 2nd. This event is a great opportunity for freshmen to start networking with their classmates and getting comfortable with their new home! Mentees should reach out to their mentors to learn more about attending the event.
The Hills by Utopia
(September 4th)
Part of the Freshers’ Week events, Utopia will host a party on top of the hills behind the Creativity Center, a favorite party spot among IE students. With an aerial perspective of Segovia, the nighttime views will spur you to dance, not to mention the rhythmic beats setting the tone in the background. Bring your friends and discover another Segovian gem the night of September 4th.
Alcatraz
(September 5th)
Alcatraz’s annual event is coming September 5th with a tropical twist. Hosted at Irish, attendees should come prepared dressed to follow the event’s theme or be penalized by one of Alcatraz’s water-gun carrying cops. Paradise awaits under neon lights. Don’t wait and find out more about the event on their instagram.

Open Day at the Creativity Center
(September 8th)
Come down to Real Casa de Moneda to find out what the Creativity Center has to offer the IE community throughout the upcoming year. Fresher’s Hike around La Granja
(September 16th)
Another one for the freshmen, this wonderful hike organized by the student government for Freshers’ Week will show students another reason for loving Segovia’s campus. A short bus ride away from Segovia, the hike will take place in La Granja, a nearby town that houses one of the royal family’s residencies – a beautiful Versailles-style palace. This hike is open to all-levels. It will take place on September 16th at 10:15. Registration will open soon on the Freshers’ Week website soon, where students can also find other amazing events.
